We found this RV park on the Passport of America website, we are members of which give 50% off the regular rate for members. Now some are good, others ok. This one was that time where we asked ourselves "where the heck are we going??" It was the closest park to Elora AND it happened to be a PA park. When we got there, there was no office, just a sign that said office by the owners park model! He took my cash (a lot of PA parks want cash since every penny counts as visa takes another 3% off) and we started driving through what ended up to very narrow roads. Getting is wasn't too much of a problem, but when we drove out to visit Elora, I soon saw where I could have same problems; there were two corners I would have to negotiate a right and left turn that were the tightest I would ever encounter. I scoffed at his listing saying "big rig friendly"!!
We had only planned to stay here one night, and as we had arrived at noon made our way through the countryside to Elora. What a great little place. It is known for its flower mill, complete with water wheel. When we arrived, we were disappointed to see construction fences around it with the water wheel gone! We found out later the mill was under restoration and would not be functional for a couple years. We did walk the streets, very nice artist shops with a lot of beautiful crafts from paintings to wood and metal artworks. Since it was a 45 minute drive back we found a nice restaurant on the gorge waterway in the town. Very romantic, we really enjoyed this day. Its the out of the way places like these that we really enjoy. A very good day.
on our way to Elora we spotted this group of Hutterite kids walking home from school. We looked for the school down the road but didn't see one. Not sure how far they were walking.......
Can't believe you drove right by our friend's place and didn't drop in :) They took us out to the same place you ate in by the river.
