We left Troutdale around 9:30 with the intention of making it to Baker City Oregon which was about a 5.5 hour drive, average on our previous leg. The highway through the Gorge area and the Columbia river is one of the nicest we've been on the whole trip. Not much traffic on the road, it was very easy driving. We've made it more of a habit to stop at rest stops a little more often so far. I think this helped in making the decision of going right through to Boise. Another factor was in Baker City the only Presbyterian church (which is not part of the PCA of America) had a female pastor; uh NOPE! Carolines ipad has roaming data and googled the next rv park and church and saw they were only 20 minutes apart in Boise. WE also would like to get further South quicker for warmer weather. Today it was 16 degrees with same forecast tomorrow.
Today may have been the longest stretch yet, just over 8.5 hours and over 800 KM's. But as I said earlier, with the extra stops and easy fueling at the Flying J, it made it an easy 8.5 hours. Caroline cooked up a wonderful chicken/mashed potato/mixed veggie dinner with lots and lots of mushroom gravy!! :) A good day.
